Hack mode (developer test mode)
HACK MODE PLAY - When playing in Hack mode, combining the 2 value tiles results in a 512 value tile. That is the only difference but it can be a big one. Hack mode provides quick access to higher value tiles which is essential for testing the game plus it is a lot of fun. Hack mode is played on a board with diagonal stripes to differentiate from traditional game play. Hack mode statistics are stored independently from traditional game statistics.
UNLOCKING HACK MODE - To activate Hack mode, go to About 2048, scroll to the bottom and tap the Version line 3 times. A celebratory sound indicates Hack mode is unlocked and you'll see Hack mode on the main menu. To hide Hack mode simple tap the Version line 3 more times until you here a crunching sound.
